The Magic of Theatre

Don’t let the curtain fall on your visit to London without taking in one of the wonderful and award-winning shows on the West-End of England’s capital.  It would be like going to Paris and not seeing the Eifel Tower or going to New York and not taking a stop at the Empire State Building; the West End is London and you really haven’t had the full experience until you’ve been blown away by one the many breathtaking productions which are put on there every night.

Whether you’re into musicals such as Disney’s Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, classic plays like Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap, dramas or ballet there is something which will suit every taste. This website will give you a rundown of some of the main shows which are currently wowing audiences but, obviously, we don’t have space to talk through them all. If you’re considering a trip to London then get researching and find a show which is right for you.

Obviously, when considering a theatre trip, one of the things which tends to put most people off is the cost. When you’re seeing world-class shows in a world class venue then, obviously, things aren’t going to be cheap and thus many people are priced out of going. However, with the new craze for Theatre Breaks this needn’t be the case; you can see a wonderful West-End show and get travel and accommodation thrown in to the bargain as well!

You really can’t argue with a deal like that and there are lots of companies who offer lots of different types of theatre breaks- you will heave to do local research to find the ones which are offering the sort of service which you require. One thing is for certain, you will be given a great night out and a comfortable bed to come home to afterwards; some deals even include pre-show meals so you get even more thrown in to your break!

As for the shows which are currently wowing audiences well, where to start. Lloyd Webber is still going strong, partly due to his exposure on BBC television and his shows, from Phantom of the Opera up to the new sequel Love Never Dies are as popular as ever. However, he now faces stiff competition from the shows such as Wicked and Hairspray which are transferring over from the West End. Plays as well such as The Woman in Black and All My Sons regularly pull in the crowds.
